The purpose of this Product Service Advisory is to inform you of a product service issue with certain 194E 25 and 32 amp disconnects and specific accessory power poles manufactured between July, 2002 and September, 2002. These disconnects and power poles may have been supplied with external wiring clamps which have been through the heat treatment process twice. This manufacturing error resulted in significant brittleness to the wiring clamp. Upon tightening, the clamp may fracture and break. It is highly probable that this condition would occur at time of installation and be noticed by the installer. In the event that the broken terminal clamp went undetected after installation, it is believed that the lack of electrical continuity at that terminal may result in nuisance tripping of the over-current protection. However, there may also be a chance of localized over-heating at the broken terminal, therefore, we ask that all product both in inventory and installed be returned for replacement.
