Company Profile
Kempston Controls (Ireland) Ltd, formerly known as TEC Electric, are a specialist distributor and manufacturer of electrical & mechanical industrial control components and equipment based in Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland.
Acquired by Kempston Controls in 2020, TEC Electric was formed in 2005 operating as a manufacturer of premium switchgear as well as a product supplier until the mid-eighties when the distribution business took precedence. At the time of acquisition, TEC Electric were focusing on distributing electrical components from a range of franchises, supplying electrical wholesalers, machine & panel builders, and more.
Kempston Controls continued its growth trajectory in 2023 by extending its presence into Belfast through the acquisition of Alpha Electrical Distribution Ltd. Alpha was a highly regarded supplier of premium quality electrical products that the manufacturers of switchboard and panel-building products depended upon. This strategic expansion solidified Kempston Controls Ireland’s position in the market and reinforced its dedication to providing top-notch products and services.
These acquisitions help provide Kempston Controls with an important base in the EU market to run alongside its operations in the UK and the Middle East. Massively enhancing the product offer, availability, and technical services that are available for both TEC Electric and Alpha Electrical Distribution Limited’s former customers and Kempston Controls existing customer base.
