TEC Electric had a long and rich tradition in industry and was established over 70 years ago as part of The Technical Equipment Company. This company operated as a manufacturer of premium switchgear as well as a product supplier until the mid-eighties when the distribution business took precedence.
TEC Electric was formed in 2005 to distribute electrical components from a range of franchises, supplying electrical wholesalers, machine, and panel builders and more. Over the years they built a strong reputation for product quality and technical service. This comprehensive background made them a perfect fit to join Kempston Controls.
Kempston Controls, one of the UK’s leading distributors of Automation and Process Control and HVAC equipment, acquired and rebranded TEC Electric to Kempston Controls in February 2020. This gave Kempston Controls an important base in the EU market to run alongside its operations in the UK and the Middle East. In turn, this acquisition massively enhanced the product offer, availability, and technical services for both TEC Electric customers and existing Kempston Controls customers.
