With a history spanning back over 100 years, Moeller began life in 1899, where Franz Klochner founded a switchgear production company in Cologne, Germany, manufacturing hand-starters for use with DC operated machinery. Hans Moeller joined the firm in 1911 becoming the chief engineer and the sole director of the company and succeeding in developing the worlds first 3-phase oil contactor and eventually lending his name to the company itself.
By the end of the 1930’s Moeller was mass-producing electrical relays in six manufacturing factories and over the years that followed designed and created many new innovative product including, FAK foot and palm switches, four-pole contactors, compact circuit breakers, residual current circuit breakers, PLCs, power distribution and motor control systems, control relays and many more. Moeller’s innovation and dedication to customer service have ensured that they remained at the very forefront of process control application technology design and manufacture during the later part of the 20th century.
