Photoelectric Sensor, Diffuse with background suppression, 2 metre range, PNP.

This Photoelectric Sensor emits an infrared beam of light and monitors that beam by use of the incorporated emitter and receiver, bouncing the beam off the target item and monitoring for discrepancies. Objects are detected independently of their surface structure, their brightness and colour as well as the brightness of the background thanks to the built in background suppression.
Common applications for Reflective Infrared Sensors with Background Suppression include production processes that involve shiny and reflective products and positional activities within industrial production processes.
